Max Shepel — Product & UX/UI designer, Moscow
Serious products,
with a little .
Product designer with a fine-art degree. I work on serious things — trading platforms, fintech apps — and look for the spot where a character, a quest or a leaderboard makes them easier to start and worth coming back to.

Maxim Shepel
Product Designer · UX/UI · BA (Hons) Fine Art
I came to product design from painting: a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, then UX/UI at the British Higher School of Art & Design, then fintech. The degree left me with an eye for composition and a habit of asking what a screen is actually about before drawing it.
The other constant is games. They have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it shows in the work — onboarding as a choice of character, features as quests, results as a leaderboard. Used sparingly, where a serious product gets easier to start and worth coming back to.
This site has one too: the painting you made upstairs is waiting to be hung in a gallery at night.
